Support and Training

NTK and the super-curators provide comprehensive support regarding the repository, including training of curators of individual communities. Supportive documents describing the repository and its functions, a manual for using the National Repository, recordings from curator trainings, and more are available.

If you are new to using the National Repository, please pay attention to the “First Login” section (in Czech), which will guide you through logging into the repository and becoming a community member.

Roles in NR

Users in the National Repository can act in the following roles:

Administrator

Technical administrator from NTK.

Super-curator

Super-curator from NTK. Consults with curators and users on any issue regarding NR. Can assume the powers of a community curator, if necessary. Performs certain aspects of NR that only they can do – approving record deletion requests, adding items to the dictionary, creating new communities, and sending invitations to curators of individual communities.

Super-curator has perfect knowledge of NR’s rules and requirements, long-term preservation of records and record policy, persistent identifiers, document typology, European projects, and NR functionalities.

Curator

The curator comes from an institution that forms a community. They review records submitted in their community and approve them. They approve the assignment of DOIs, if the community has it as part of NR. They are responsible for the content within the community and the quality of metadata and check access rights to files. They can invite submitters and members to the community.

The curator is familiar with NR’s metadata fields, knows persistent identifiers for objects or persons, is familiar with licenses and funding sources for their community’s outputs. They can distinguish document types and their importance for DOIs. They can determine the severity of changes in a document and record and decide on versioning or data modification.

Submitter

The submitter comes from an institution that forms a community. They have rights to create drafts and submit requests for publication approval, or for DOIs. They have the same reading rights as a member.

Member

The member comes from an institution that forms a community or has been invited by a community curator. They can view all records (published, works in progress) and files in the community. They do not have the right to create new records.

(Un)logged-in User

Can log in via an identity provider but does not belong to any community. Views metadata and publicly available files (open access) of published records.

ORCID iD in the National Repository

ORCID iD is a unique and persistent identifier for researchers and others who are part of the research ecosystem. It is free, independent, and globally recognized. It links your outputs, affiliations, and projects in one place, ensuring that your professional activities are correctly attributed to you – regardless of name similarity, change of workplace, or variations in the spelling of your name.
The National Repository supports logging in via ORCID iD – whether you are an author or a submitter. If you don’t yet have an ORCID iD, creating one is free and takes only a few minutes. After linking your account, logging in is faster, and your identity remains consistent across systems.

Learn more about ORCID iD at identifikatory.cz/en or in a short video by the National Library of Technology on YouTube.
